What is a Berimbau?

A Berimbau is an instrument used in Capoeira.   The instrument comes from Africa but is used in Brazil today. The berimbau had 3 parts.

Verga is the arc made of biriba wood piece of the instrument that is 1.6 meters long.

Arame is the steel wire that comes from tires or vegetable fibers used to make the string.

The Cabaca is the bottom of the Berimba that resonates the sound. It is a gourd that is dried out making a great hollow sound.
